The Chester County Solid Waste Authority is sponsoring a FREE SHREDDING EVENT on Saturday, March 24, 2012 starting at 7:30 AM and ending at 11:30 AM or when the truck gets filled (whichever comes first). The event will be held at the Chester County Solid Waste Authority Lanchester Landfill, located on Route 322 just 2 miles past the intersection of Routes 10 and 322 in Honey Brook.

This is an opportunity to safely destroy and recycle documents that contain personal legal information, account statements, medical information and documents containing personal information.

Protect yourself from identity theft and come to the Shredding Event on March 24th.

The Southeastern Chester County Refuse Authority (SECCRA), is seeking bids for SCALE MODIFICATIONS at the SECCRA Community Landfill. Four (4) copies of the bid must be submitted to the SECCRA Office on or before 4:00 o'clock PM prevailing time OCTOBER 19, 2011.

The work generally consists of: site grading, removal and replacement of old foundations and slabs, placement of pre-purchased scalehouse and installation of miscellaneous drainage piping and conduits. Inquiries concerning this bid are to be directed to SECCRA via the pennbid.net system.

The bids must be sealed and the envelope must be labeled with the words 'SEALED BID: SCALE MODIFICATIONS' Bids will be opened and reviewed promptly following the opening ceremonies of the Board of Directors' meeting OCTOBER 19, 2011 at 7:30 o'clock PM prevailing time at the SECCRA offices.

Copies of the bid documents (in Adobe Acrobat PDF format) can be obtained for download at no charge via the internet at pennbid.net. Bid documents will not be shipped.The bid documents can be obtained on or after OCTOBER 13, 2011. SECCRA reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids.

The Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Security in the form of a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Bid, or $10.000.00, whichever is greater. All Bids shall be effective for sixty (60) days from the date of the Bid opening. Each Bid must be sealed and the envelope must be labeled with the words 'SEALED BID SCALE MODIFICATIONS.'

Most disposal costs remain the same for 2011, with the exception of truck tires, hich go from $6 to $10, and tractor tires from $16 to $25. This is necessary due to the costs presented to SECCRA for the recycling of these materials.
