Educational Opportunities & Information Outreach

SECCRA offers a living classroom approach to environmental education through site tours and presentations on waste disposal and recycling throughout the community.

Landfill tours include the three R's of reduction, reuse and recycling to foster a sense of environmental responsibility. Children are taught that landfill space is not unlimited, and waste reduction reduces the need for more landfills.

Visitors to SECCRA are shown excellent wildlife habitat found on-site. A family of geese as shown in the picture at right, are a typical fixture on SECCRA's stormwater ponds.

SECCRA personnel make numerous presentations to community action groups and service clubs regarding waste disposal and recycling.

SECCRA's web site, launched in 2002, gives users clear, concise information on its waste disposal and recycling programs and community giving partnerships.
