Educational Opportunities & Information Outreach

SECCRA embraces a living classroom approach to environmental education by offering guided landfill tours and community presentations focused on waste disposal, recycling, and sustainability.

Landfill Tours
Our tours emphasize the core principles of the three R’s—Reduce, Reuse, Recycle—encouraging environmental responsibility from an early age. Visitors learn that landfill space is limited, and that reducing waste plays a critical role in minimizing the need for additional disposal sites.

Wildlife & Natural Habitat
SECCRA’s landfill is more than a disposal site—it's also home to thriving wildlife habitats. Guests are often surprised to see ducks, geese, bald eagles, and many other species of birds peacefully coexisting with our daily operations.

Community Engagement
SECCRA personnel are active in the community, delivering presentations to schools, civic organizations, and service clubs. These sessions promote awareness of proper waste disposal and the long-term benefits of recycling and environmental stewardship.

Online Resources
Since its launch in 2002, SECCRA’s website has served as a trusted resource for residents and educators. The site provides easy-to-understand information on waste disposal guidelines, recycling programs, and community giving initiatives.
