Dockstader Foundation awards $122,000 in grants in 2019

The E. Kneale Dockstader Foundation awarded grants and scholarships in 2019 totaling $122,000. Grants ranged from $2,000 to $21,000 and covered activities from plastic pollution reduction to runoff water quality improvement via installation of bioswale technology. The Foundation’s Board of Directors wishes to congratulate the eleven grant and four scholarship winners. Our sincere thanks to these willing partners who are making the effort to improve the environment in southern Chester County. Listed below are the eleven grant winners and their projects:

  • White Clay Watershed Association – Green infrastructure demonstration project $ 7,500

  • The Land Conservancy – Enacting an environmental Management Plan $15,000

  • Kids Care in the Square – Reducing Plastic Pollution in the Community $ 2,000

  • Octorara School District – Solar Project $15,000

  • Brandywine Red Clay Alliance – Bioswale Project $21,000

  • Kennett Area Park and Recreation Board – Bioswale Project $15,000

  • Londonderry Township – Native Woodlands Project Phase III $ 6,000

  • Natural Lands – Signage for the Cheslen Preserve $ 5,000

  • Kennett Area Park Authority – Garden runoff Control $ 9,000

  • Oxford Area Recreation Association – Woodland Trail Restoration $ 5,500

  • Friends Home in Kennett Square – Secure Garden Passage for Residents $ 5,000
